I've got a vgn-n38ZW, since doing a clean install of Win & Ult to replace the original Sony Vista that came with the machine, the wifi is worse than useless. It might work for 5-10 minutes, but it might also be off for a week. Tried assorted drivers, both newer and older than the original. The wireless card was an Atheros, so I tied an Intel pro, given that the current wisdom is that it's a better card, but no surpise, still nothing works. If you run tha diagnostics on it, both windows and Intels troubleshooter comes up with the same thing... its switched off. This isnt the case, and there seem to be other people out there suffering the same prob, but I've yet to find someone with a fix.
Any of you got any bright ideas besides heave the thing out the window or go back to XP?
