I can't get my laptop to connect to the wifi at work. It works fine at home and in other places I've visited since buying it 3 weeks ago, but it just won't connect to the work router.
We have a netgear WG102 in the office. We run 6 other laptops from it fine, and this isn't a problem with the WEP key as we've changed the whole network key for all users as part of the dilligence to try to get this laptop to connect.
The laptop says it's a problem with the router, but the router supports everyone else just fine. My IT guys say the laptop is faulty, but Sony support say it isn't.
I'm stumped and I'm pretty unhappy with the situation as I roam around a lot when I'm in the office.
Has anyone else had similar problems/does anyone know why this is happening?
Also, when I shut the lid to put it to 'sleep' it won't automatically reconnect when i open it up again. The Wireless/Bluetooth function switches off the wifi, then even when manually turned back on it still requires me to manually connect to my home network and offers no tick box for me to choose 'connect automatically'
