View original websites

How do you view a webpage from its original country,

ive been on a few websites that take you onto the uk website instead of the us as you access the page e.g. IGN

Sites are regional so the only way i can think of seeing the american version of this particular site is to use a proxy service based within that country like this whereby the site ign.com is achievable.

are there no other ways?

im afraid not due to the sites referencing the IP address and then using software to Geo-localise you to the correct region website.
