VGX-TP2S/B trying get 16:9 from SVideo input

I'm trying to set up a VGX-TP2S/B tryi to work with Sky HD.
The Sky HD box ouputs 16:9 fine on the Svideo and we have verified that this is outputting 16:9 correctly.
It seems that the AVerMedia Hybrid tuner card is ignoring the 16:9 flag and treating it as a 4:3 signal.
Is there any way to fix this, e.g. set the AverMedia to treat the signal as 16:9?

Sounds a bit daft, but did you try another SVideo cable, because it really should display 16:9. Sometimes on the TV the picture goes 4:3, so we go to standby on the Sky and turn it on again, usually fixes the problem.
