Hey peeps,
I have been reading on here, that you can fit double the RAM on these models ie. upto 2gb rather than 1gb as stated by Sony.
Now i wish i had known this when i upgraded a few months back....
Question is if i fit this into my V3S will it cause any warranty issues at all?
Thanks
bump
This is perhaps a greyish area. I do not think it would invalidate your warranty but...........
In practical terms no-one will know the difference if you keep your old RAM and replace it in your V3S in the unfortunate event of having to return it for service!
Euhrrrr, not all Vaio's so please don't just do this.
I know from experience that the V3 can only handle a max 1024 MB, so no upgrading anymore there...
CRUCIAL.COM say it will take 2048MB and they are prepared to guarantee this will work!
I know Sony say 1024MB - but Crucial would not be prepared to offer their guarantee unless they were sure it would be OK.
I love the way Crucial always find a higher max RAM allowance
While reading on the crucial site i was taken to a different page that according to specs it would take as much as 4096mb!!!
Worst case buy extra RAM on credit card it's 'only' £120:smileyblush:
If it fails to work then can get full refund??
tbc......
I think they will, you'd have to ask them this question before purchasing
