Hi, I saw this issue posted and could see no response. I also have exactly the same issue can anyone help me with a solution.
I've got a problem with Vaio VGC-LT2S blu-Ray Read/Writer.
While it will play CDs, it does not recognise DVDs let alone Blu-Ray disks and, obviously will not write disks either.
Using Windows 7 Professional, but problem also existed when using Vista Home premium.
Two months out of warranty and quote for Sony repair £225 and upwards!!
Device manager shows as Matshita BD-MLT UJ225s ATA Device OK using 6.1.7600.16385 driver from Microsoft.
Can't find alternative software or firmware & have even restored to factory state without success.
Can anyone assist?
