validation problem

I put upgrade vista on my machine it has wiped all my files and it will not validate on the windows vista site. It keeps telling me it is not the the write number in my windows vista.

What model Vaio do you own?
When upgrading, what operating system are you going from (XP or Vista HP) and what version of Vista are you trying to install ( Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, etc)?
What disc have you used to upgrade? Have you bought a retail Vista upgrade disc? Or have you used the Vista Anytime Upgrade disc?
Have you paid for the upgrade?
Where did you get the COA License Product Key from?

I on the machine put upgrade home premium because security downloads caused it to stall
