VAIO FE11S PAINT GET's OFF KEYBOARD & BUTTONS

Dear Sony contributers,

I bought my new Sony Vaio FE11S less than a month ago.
Now it seems like the painting on my keyboard (the lettres) seem to get of !!! Also the paint on my mute button is falling of,
This doesn't like very nice, is there a posibilty to change those things?
Cause otherwise I can't sugest other people to buy a Sony Vaio,
after less than a month he looks like I've been using him for years.

I had the same problem with the letter D.
they said it could have been when you washed your hands that some cleaning agent was still on it and rubbed off the letter.

they sent me the key and just fitted it in easily. if it happens with other keys...then off it goes again, with a free trip to Belgium.

Heh they'll think of anything won't they? It's a widespread problem yet they blame you rather than their cheap paint!

For what its worth, I've had my FE11S since March and the ink on all the keys is as clear and fast as the day I bought it. My wife's work keyboard faded in about a month, and we realised that it's because she puts moisturiser on her hands in the morning, whereas I don't do that kind of thing

Is there a solution to this problem yet?
I have an FE11H and the paint on my mute and volume buttons is coming off although my keyboard is still perfect. Is it really necessary to send the whole machine back to just replace the buttons?

Welcome to Club Vaio,

You could contact Vaio-Link and request a replacement mute key rather than thw whole keyboard...

When you get your mute keys e-mail me and I'll send you a PDF with detailed instructions on how to install the keys. Beleive me you need instructions as it is tricky unless you know how.

yesterday I call to the belgium support line.
They told me they were still researching the cause of this ...
after that they will tell me if it's still under waranty.
hope it's still is, and that they contact me asap.

The paint has peeled off one of my volumn control buttons. I own a FE21S, I contact edsony the other day and they have arranged to collect the machine and replace the button.

So if the paint has peeled off your buttons get on the phone to sony.
