Using Vaio Everywair WWAN Abroad

I am a long-time Vaio user and am considering getting a Vaio Z series laptop.

I would use it a lot abroad (especially India and China). Will it be possible to use a local SIM for the Everywair WWAN connection, or will I have to use the SIM provided by Sony and pay high roaming charges?

Another question. Could I, if I chose, use the computer with a normal dongle?

I would appreciate advice.

Yes and yes. I've been in Mallorca (Spain) for half a year. Got myself a spanish sim, put it in my Vaio TT and it worked like a charm. If you decide to make use of a dongle, install the software provided with it and you are good to go.
