Sound

VAIO PCV-W2
XP with SP3
Have made some registry changes. As a result Sound driver gets lost each time on System Start.
Has to be updated or reset to installed driver SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio to activate PC Loudspeaker?
At System Shut Down and restart, the Loudspeaker is again deactivated and the driver has to be reset again?
Can someone provide a solution?
Thanks and regards,
riicky :slight_frown:

Hi riicky and welcome.

Without knowing what you have disabled it is difficult to suggest a fix.

I would check in 'Services' that the Windows Audio Service and the Plug-n-Play Service are both set to run automatically at startup.

Hi Blencogo,
I had luckily prepared a backup image on DVD.
So I played back to a previous (2009) set up and got back Sound and Giga-Pocket.
Thanks all the same.
Both the Services you mentioned were and are on Automatic and started.
Regards,
Ricky
