Hi Guys!! Does anyone have an idea of how to remove the Norton Internet Security 2004 that I found already on my Vaio?? The program is not on the DVD supplied and when I try to removed it, it's asking for the program of installation to do it!!! Any pratical good solution? I would appreciate. Ciao:smileysad:
There is a way but it's not the clean one.
First go to the Taskmanager and quit all task and services which are
related to NIS.
Then you can remove the Folder of NIS (C:\Programme or C:\Program Files)
The you schould run a Registry Cleaner like Klick
to remove the dead entrys
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Always back up your registry before doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you could take a look in msconfig ( Start -> Run -> msconfig)
and look at the 2 last tabs and remove everything related to NIS
make a restart and it schould be gone.
I just used add/remove software.
Got rid of NAV too, which is good.
Kee-Lo, what do you dislike about Norton products?
The resource hogging they do, also they're no better than AVG or ZoneAlarm at their job.
ZoneAlarm caused problems for me with P2P so I reverted to Norton.
Depends on what you do.
