I,ve seen the new R series Vaio desktops on US sony site. They are black with water cooling system, etc....
are these coming to UK soon...they look much better than current range.
anubody have any news, or comments on best of current range.
I have a RX201 and want to upgrade, for DVD editing on home video..
thanks
The new European model will be the VGC-RA104.
It doesn't come with water-cooling, but it is a killer-machine nonetheless! All the new features from Intel's Grantsdale chipset...mjummieee!
Can't wait to get my hands on that machine!
... and it looks awesome too
Any chance I can beta test it
any news on when they are available in UK?
We are expecting the R to arrive on the UK shores some time at the begining of August or even sooner. Our current stock of the RZ desktops which are still very good looking are starting to dwindle and not getting to many back in to stock.
That would normaly indicate to us that the R is on its way.
Plus knowing how Sony normaly do there range changes it is coming up to that time.
Also we had the Sony rep in the store the other day and he was showing it off on his laptop, and he also said that there was going to be some intresting info on a new product coming out this week?!?
When we asked him about Sony's iPod rival the NW-HD1 he knew nothing about it.:smileyconfused: but it is on the Sony site, looking forward to getting my hands on that for a test drive
Yeah I think everyone is waiting for the new R desktops. Apparently they have water cooling (or is that just more rumurs?)
Hope they'll be retailing at a decent price.
The american ones have the liquid cooling check out this link for more info, will have to wait until UK model anounced to find out specs.

One other thing to point out it looks like Giga-pocket is being droped for Microsoft Windows XP Media Edition instead

Nice.
Though I hear Gigapocket is better than XP's media centre.
