Hi i just bought a brand new Vaio 17" laptop and i am trying to get everything going i have come up against thia problem i put a movie disk in to see how a film looked but i cannot find where it is playing i went to media center it asked me if i wanted to burn a disk. I know is probably something simple but i just cannot find the program that you view your movies or bought movies on disk.

what type of file do you have on the disc ?

hi i was trying to watch or just look at chitty chitty bang bang which is a bought dvd and a home movie one cannot see or find either one

Do you have Win DVD on your Vaio.?

If so try using that to view your DVD..

Or simply open Windows Media Player, click on Library above, and at the left side of your screen choose "Unknown DVD".

There is no such program that you are trying to find on the disk that you had bought. I had too faced the same situation where I earlier bought an DVD from local store after which it displays the same error. I guess you should try started palying with VLC 8.1 that supports formats.
