Missing Disk Space on Hard Drive ?

My Sony Vaio PCV V1/G has 2 drives. The D:/ Drive has a total disk space of 122GB & the free space is 102 GB yet I am only using about 7GB with some music. Where is all my other disk space ? Ive tried defragging .. ?? Please help !

How big is the C:\

The C/: is total size 27.9gb and the free space is 17.8gb. I just cann't understand where approximately 14 gb is being used ? I hope you can help ?

Sorry Ke Low, I'll try to be a bit clearer. When I bought my comp, there are 2 hard disk drives. C and D. C has a total size of 27.9gb and at present has 18gb free space. Which is fine as I have used about 10gb with software and pics etc.
The second drive.. the D drive has a total of 121GB and has 102GB free. However I am sure I do not have 19GB of stuff stored on it. I can only find about 6gb of music and few other files but nothing seems to take up the space... I don't understand where it has gone ?

I am wondering if system restore is using the rest of the space...

oh it might be as I have done a couple of system restores, in the past few weeks. Are you supposed to so anything to free up the space once you have restored to previous date and are happy with everything ?

In system restore you can actually clear ones which are fine and just keep the last one.

This sounds great but I'm afraid I'm a bit of a novice ... how do I do this..

Right click My Computer
Click on properties
Click on the System Restore tab
Click on Turn Off System Restore.
Click on Apply

Restart your machine.

If, for some reason, don't want to do that then go into My Computer, right click the hard disk and go to properties. There click on disk cleanup and tick system restore points.
