Hi folks,
I have just bought a stick of 512 RAM for my FS215B and have discovered that it has 2x 256MB modules installed, can any body tell me which, if any would be best to swap for my new RAM, the one closest to the edge or the inner most one?
Thanks
you would need to buy another 512k stick, having a 256 and a 512 installed won't work. the memory will only be as fast as the slowest link. in your case 256k.
would i be able to install the single 512 untill I can get a further 512 stick, and if so which port should I use
Thanks

If you look at the CRUCIAL.COM site, they say you have 2 slots in 2 banks. This means the slots are independent and you can mix a 512 and a 256 module to give 768MB of RAM. I don't think it matters which module is in which slot.
As drinkfeckarse says, if you mix SPEEDS (DDR 333 with anything else) the total memory will only run at the speed of the slowest module. So I hope you have bought PC2700 DDR 333 to match your existing memory.
Hi
I have bought my RAM from Crucial so it should be compatible but I will check before I fit it, I am glad I can mix the sizes, I was getting worried for a while there
Thanks
