Left mouse button on pad not working

I have noticed this evening that the left mouse button on the pad is not working. I can use the left button on a real mouse so it's definately just the pad. I have an N31 and I got it in July last year so it is just under a year old.

Any thoughts, or am I going to have to contact Sony?

Go into the device manager and see is there are any exclamation marks when you oipen up the tree associated with the pad. if not then start a case at Vaio Link to have it repaired or, if so, try uninstalling and reboot. It should reinstall the device and bob's you're uncle

Thanks Tony. I can't see anything.

I have also discovered this morning that the pad DOES work but only if you click it in one particular small place. The right pad works wherever, but the left one, although it makes a 'click' noise wherever you click it, it only responds at a certain point on the very far right of the pad.

Think I'll contact Sony.

If the pad is not responding properly as you say so, its 99% hardware problem or some kind of dust or something stuck right beneath the pad key!
Contact Sony.
