I have a Vaio laptop (VGN - FZ31Z). I keep on brushing (very gently) the mousepad and end up writting words half way up the page (ie it is moving me without me really wanting to). I also would like to be able to use the left handside of the mousepad to be able to scroll up and down the screen, and use the top part of the pad to allow me to scroll side to side.
I have been in the control panel and dabbled with the options there, but they do not seem to cover the situations that i describe above (in particular, I want it to ignore 'accidental' movements).
Can anybody please help? Thanks in advance.
Hi bongo345,
welcome to Club VAIO..
Click Start, then all programs, then Vaio Control Centre..
Click Continue on the User Account Control window..
In the Vaio Control Centre expand Keyboard and Mouse..
Then double click on Mouse..
In the Mouse Properties window select the Tapping tab.
In the tapping tab ensure that you have selected Tap Off when typing and also try adjusting the delay after last key is hit.
Does that help with the Touchpad problem.?
I also would like to be able to use the left handside of the mousepad to be able to scroll up and down the screen, and use the top part of the pad to allow me to scroll side to side.

Hi Thalamus,
Thanks for the responsen. I am sure it would help, but there is no tapping tab. The menu that comes up when I double click on mouse is the same one that I have tried earlier, and it just does not seem to have any options that relate to this kind of situation!
Cheers,
Bongo
Hi Bongo,
Press the windows key+R to open the Run box type devmgmt.msc and press OK
Click Continue on the User Account Control window.
Expand Mice or other pointing devices.
Is there a pointing device or PS2 mouse listed..?
Hi Thalamus,
There is an 'Alps for Pointing-device for Vaio'. (But still no options that look like they might solve the problem.
Cheers,
Bongo
