Help quick!!!!!

my charger is making a buzz/zap sound once a second and the green light isn't coming on, and its not charging the bat in my laptop! so when the bat runs out i'm finished!!!
any ideas people?

Sorry I cant help but just to let you know you are not alone! I think my charger has just 'blown up!'. My laptop was connected to the charger and suddenly the screen went black, I was horrified! I unplugged it and it smelt awful. The green light on the charger is no longer lit. Not sure what to do now, my laptop is ok (thank god) but like you I dont have much charge left in it. Can some-one out there please advise.


AC Adapter VGP-AC19V20 19.5V is this a common problem? My laptop is 18 months old so is no longer under guarentee.

Hi carlsmith and welcome to Club Vaio.

It sounds like something is shorting and the noise is sparking. Check the power cord into the charger is fully plugged in and not damaged.

If pushing the plug into the charger does not work, TURN IT OFF and contact Sony immediately here: -
