Hi there. I recently bought a D-Link DIR615 router. I cannot get a signal in part of my house so thought if I changed from a "g" router to an "n" router this would help. The signal on the new router is not any better. When I change the router to "n" only I cannot get a signal at all which makes me think that my laptop is not set up for the "n" router and is accessing the internet using "g". This would also explain why the signal is no better than the old "g" router. I have checked my wi-fi settings and it says that "n" is enabled. Anyone any ideas on how I can sort this ? Thanks for your help.
Hi dasovic,
I'm not an expert but have you tried downloading and updating your driver for your wireless on your laptop? (I assume its a Vaio then go here: http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/index.aspx?l=en_GB&navigationSource=wep)I would recommend to do this first. Next step would be to update your firmware and drivers on your router. This could help.
Any advice from others much appreciated.
Cheers
Rav
