DVD playback problems

Hi,
I have a Vaio PCV-W series desktop. Could anyone offer a solution as to why sometimes when I have copied a DVD for backups, it suddenly starts to pause/jump intermitently throughout the movie. Some copies are ok and have no problems. Is this a problem with the dvd drive, would an external drive solve the problem or is there an update for the problem. Hello

1. which prog do you use to "backup" your dvd's
2. is the position where it hangs always the same in one movie

I use Roxie easy DVD copy. Had previously used DVD express which I thought was the problem. no the interference has no pattern on each dvd when the problem starts. Thanks for you time.

Did you try the dvd's on another drive or dvd-player?

When they go through the movie (isn't bad to watch a movie so often)
whithout an error maybe it's the drive.
