Hii
I got my B1XP exactly a year ago. Last week, it stopped booting to windows. Gave me some lsass.exe error. Tried to restore, but the recovery partition is screwed up as well, comes with a blue screen saying c000021a -some fatal system error. The recovery disks I burned as per the instructions were identified by the laptop after a few attempts. I tried to do a full system recovery from the disks, but it stopped after a few minutes saying something went wrong and asked me to do the recovery again. Now laptop wouldn't identify the disks, and comes up with No OS found message. How come the recovery partition they installed wouldn't work. Why dont sony people give the recovery CDs like others do.
Did this happen to anyone here?
I had linux installed as well, luckily I was able to back up my data, but when i tried to access the windows system32 folder using linux, the laptop frooze.
This luckily happened just a week before the expiry of the warranty, i called them up and arranged for a pick up. I hope they won't charge me if they have to replace the disks. I take good care of my laptop with upto date antivirus and never download any crap. Just use it for my research work, I am pretty annoyed that something like this happened.
Any comments abt what could have gone wrong wud b interesting.
Thanks
Veena.
If you called before warranty, you should have a grace period, as you made contact within time.
Does sound like the hard disk has packed up.
