Can I use an external graphics card?

Hi All,

I have a problem with the NVidia GeForce 8400M graphics card in my Sony vaio desktop and am wondering if I can use an external graphics card to take over. I dont need it to be high quality for games or anything like that.

I am aware that this is a known issue to Sony and they do offer to repair it even if the computer is out of Warranty but unfortunately this is not an option for me so I really need to know if an external card will work please.

I don't think this is possible.  I think the only solution is a repair or a reflow of the soldering.
