Burning Audio CDs

Hi all,

I'm having a problem burning audio cds, on my vgn-fs285H. It has a sony dvd rw dw-d56a and I'm using nero or windows media player.

Whenever i try to burn at 24 or 12x i'm getting buffer underrun etc. I thought it was just the cds i was using, but since changing the brand i now have 4 more coasters....

Any ideas or help?

Thanks, tom

 I have exactly the same problem with the same drive. I have been able to burn CD-r s by slowing write speed down to 4X but it doesn't half take a long time to burn a CD. I am able to read all DVDs and Cds but it is incredibly fussy about DVD R media. I'm considering returning my A317S to sony as it is still under warranty, but having read all the posts on the subject I'm wondering whether to just replace the drive myself with some other brand once the warraty has run out.

In my opinion, never burn audio CDs > 8x, because on some CDs you can hear artifacts where the audio is a little corrupted
