I'm having the exact same problem as these two users:

My laptop is a Vaio VPCS11C5E and suddenly it stopped starting up fully, no matter what option I choose (i.e. Normal boot, Safe Mode, Recover Last Good Configuration, Recovery CD...).
It always gets stuck on a blue background with a white bird next to some green branches, i.e.:

There's nothing plugged in (i.e. USB or whatever).
Has anybody else seen this, or have any ideas?
