battery icon

Hello everyone!
Just got a new VAIO notebook, is there a reason why i cannot see the battery icon on the notification bar when I disconnect the AC power? I remember seeing it there the first day, but it seems it has symply vanished!

I had the same problems and tried hard to find the answer.
I think what I did in the end was to select log off first then shut down.
I think this was what worked but might be wrong.
I have just got a Vaio with Vista and must say I am struggling to get to grips with it

Hi and welcome to Club Vaio.

Try right-clicking on the Taskbar and in the window that opens, make sure the 'Power' box is checked.
