Battery cover blemishes..?..

Hi all ,, . My 40gb vaio pocket is still VERY new & seems to be working ok,, but a few days back i noticed what i would call a (blemish) on the back of the player on the flat part of the shiny dark battery casing, recently i noticed a couple more,, they are only small and look like silvery/gold patches on the dark background, there are no scratches or scuffs at all on the surface whatsoever.. does anybody else have these? im guessing they are maybe caused by acids from skin contact whilst being held? if this is the case, maybe sony could have found a better material,,my only fear was that it could be a battery related problem,, tho im guessing not as they arent on the edge of the battery cover but central,,and the cover is quite thick also.. if these are quite normal & some of u have had this for months with no probs please do say,,

Hi n=have you tried wiping these "blemishes" off, they might just be grease.

They are 100% NOT grease marks,,,,of course you can wipe off grease marks etc ,, the surface over these marks is still nice & glossy, (especially after a firm rub with a cloth)

Strange i have never known of a problem like this before.It might be worth contacting sony just to make sure there is no battery leakage or whatever.

My unit has similar marks, and I believe it is caused by sweat reacting with the chromed surface and then tarnishing the finish. Especially prevelant in this warm weather on the tube for example. I found that as soon as I got my case and started using it, the problem disapeared faster than a Whitehall apology.
