Weird problem

Weird problem on mom-in-law's 3 year-old Sony Bravia KDL28V2010U 28" LCD TV.

On some channels get the above effect on the subtitles- ITV3 above.

It's a sort of multi-coloured shimmering effect. Doesnt happen all the time and then only on a few channels.

Just affects white text and not other colours!! Picture looks fine and no problem there at all.

Is this a TV fault or perhaps the signal being received from a communal cable input?

Strange, haven't seen something like this before. Gut feeling is its the signal coming in to the TV but you could only check this if you tried it on another aerial in another property I guess.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think it surely has to be the signal. Dragging her TV around an old folks retirement complex might be the only answer on this one 😉
