Problem with remote control

I seem to have a problem with the remote control for my Sony KDL-42W653A  Television.I cannot seem to be able to use the text button as when I press it nothing happens.I have two remote controls and have the same problem on both and all the other buttons seem to work.There is no mention of the remote in the manual.I take it I am using the correct key which is the one next to the zero key with the green horizontal lines.This is the key I have always used. Advice needed,Thank's.

Hi @muffin1947,

It sounds like you are using the correct button.  I believe the available functions and screen content shown when pressing the text button vary depending on the broadcaster.  Have you tried using the text button on a variety of different channels to see if it makes any difference?
