Each manufacturer use its own naming for HMDI CEC (Sony use Bravia Sync, Pana Viera-Cast, etc) but normally they refer to the same standard and should interoperate. The problem is that if it doesn't work, since they state that that only own products are guaranteed, you cannot ask for a correction or refund.
What I suggest is make a internet search for the configuration you want to use or make sure with the shop that you can return the product if it doesn't work with your Bravia.
