BBC iPlayer no longer loads on Sony Bravia KDL-22EX320 Smaret TV

Not so Smaret TV ?   This TV has been downloading BBCi-PLayer for a number of years. Last night I got the message : "WE do not support your device"   Very annoying !   Why ?  Can this be fixed ?  BBC site seems to be saying I now need a set top box you add to the clutter around my TV to access i-Player.  But the reason I bout the Sony TV was to do that !  Any solutions ?
