Front camera is not working.

I recently bought the Xperia m4 aqua dual as I was pretty impressed by its stats on paper but there are a few issues that have to be solved. Firstly I cant use my front camera. There is no icon for the front camera even in the camera application and also in other apps like retrica. I tried clearing the data but it wasnt effective enough. It would be really helpful if you could Solve this as soon as possible.

I have the same problem with a new Xperia M4 and have read all 124 posts on this forum and tried all the suggested solutions. Nothing worked for me! What I find really annoying is that the so-called "Sony Xperia Experts", who I assume are employed by Sony, continue to trot out the same "solutions" that obviously don't fix the problem. Do they not read the many responses to their suggestions that simply say "THAT DIDN'T WORK"!

This is my third Sony phone but it will absolutely be my last. I can't believe that a company of Sony's pedigree and reputation would ignore what is an obvious fault in a product.

Thankfully, we can report Sony to consumer protection authorities for selling a product which does not comply with trade description acts and I would urge dissatisfied customers to make official complaints to the relevant agencies. Put quite simply, the Xperia M4 does have some of the functionality that is advertised in Sony's published specifications. This is illegal under consumer protection legislation.

Maybe they will fix the problem if the regulators start asking questions!

I was buy sony Xperia m4 aqua(E2353) phone in one year ago.. Since couple of months it's front camera does not working autometicaly... I coudn't get selfi pictures, video call and etc...   Please give me a solution for this imidietly...  Thank you...

I have the same problem with my Sony m4 this is the second year I used it last night the front camera didn't work suddenly and the button of the front camera disaberd from the screen and I can't use any camera application

My wife tried installing these 2 apps and of that has has fixed the issue.  I guess it is the 'startfront Camera' which really fixed the issue. But check both and let others know.

That did fix the same problem I had with my M4 Agua!

I put out my SD-card and I restarted the phone in safety-mode. 
It opened the camera and the switch-button was avalaible (front-camera was working) 

BUT after turning it back into normal mode my camera just showed a black screen.

I have tried the solution you said,  without success. 

I'm having the same problem with the front camera, and I have also tried resetting my Xperia to factory state, however the camera is still not working. 

The problem persist.
