I just bought the STR DN1080 to replace my 8+ year old Onkyo TX-SR606 which blew up a few weeks ago. All the reviews I read about the DN1080 were great, particularly the sounds quality, but so far I feel like the Onkyo sound quality was better. This leads me to believe I'm doing something wrong or haven't set up the DN1080 correctly. I might be a bit different in that I have 4 in-ceiling speakers rather than a floor speaker surround sound system. Could this be it? When I used the auto calibration there ended up being no sound coming from the back speakers as they were configured as the surround sound speakers. I've messed around with the the speaker settings, eq, level etc and this has helped a bit but it feels like the sound should be better. Any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated.
