First at all games like PUBG "eating" yours smartphone RAM memory, this working very hard when you enjoying yours game, so it's normal that smartphone heating a lot - leave for a while to cold down it. Second PUBG game probably lagging in yours smartphone, i'm right? It's too big and Xperia C5 Ultra have to less RAM memory for it. Keep in mind that games like PUBG which probably require internet connection, coz is online game, "eating" yours battery life together with RAMs, also you mentioned you have 3 years this model, battery normal life period is 2 - 3 years, so it's nothing special that yours battery darining a lot after 3 years. About freezing, well after update to Marshmallow this model lagging a lot even when you playing big and new games like PUBG and ect. Probably coz "eating" a lot of RAM memory. My advise to "kill" apps which no need to you for this momemnt when you playing games (force close in app setting) 
Also one good advise - restart yours smartphoine everytime when it lagging, for me for a while helping, but not so much. 2GB Ram is very less for today, keep in mind apps like Facebook "eating" RAMs about 500MB from yours 2GB, and keep in mind that for users are about 1.7GB RAMs
