Two versions of the same HDMI input. One with input lag/bad lipsync, the other without.

I regularly notice a slight input delay when I first turn my 50X90S on and it goes straight to an HDMI input. This is only if "Power on behaviour" is set to "Last used input." It resolves itself when I switch to something else and return.

At first the HDMI input doesn't show the device name, and it only appears after the switch is made.

It appears as if there are 2 versions of each HDMI input (for example "HDMI 2" and "Google TV Streamer HDMI 2"), and somehow the one with the names have less delay. This also affects lipsync.

To sum up:

HDMI 2 - Input lag and audio delay.

Google TV Streamer HDMI 2 - No input lag and perfect audio sync.

This is just an example - it happens with all devices and inputs.

Not a huge deal - but having the TV power on to the 'wrong' input and having to switch every time gets annoying. It took me ages to figure out.

Hi @pabulous   Have you reported it to Sony?

No, talking to Sony support never gets me anywhere.

I suspect it's just their implementation of HDMI-CEC, Bravia Sync, which has always been more finicky than other brands.

I posted this in the hopes that it would help others or to see if anyone had any ideas.
