Sound System Connection Failure

I have lost the connectivity between my Sony TV and Sony AV System. How do I correct this?

Hi,

You wrote"I have tried everything you suggested and more", what is more???

How did you get on with the reset, did it help in resolving your issue?

I have completed the Factory Resets on both the TV and A/V Receiver.
Initially this did not make any difference. However, I started to watch a programme on iPlayer on the TV via my FreeSat box, (because the sound system worked with this).
When I reverted to watching the TV via the A/V Receiver I discovered that the sound was going to the A/V Receiver has it should.
So, what actually solved the problem I am at a loss to know.
Perhaps someone at Sony can explain?
All I have to do now is set up the TV and A/V Receiver again to try and reproduce the way I set them up initially.
I would still like an explanation as to why this happened so that I can, hopefully, avoid the same thing happening again.

Well that is very interesting, but you got the outcome you wanted, but a mystery all the same.

Do you know if your area had a power outage just before your problem materialised.

Sony aren't necessarily here, just us consumers.

Just monitor the situation over the coming days and weeks, see if anything similar happens.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. The system is still in a mess and not working as it should.
I think I need someone to come and look at the set up.
Can you suggest anyone/anything?

David Roscoe.

OK so you are back to square one and no sound or vision when using the TV as the input on your AV processor.

Does this still mean you are getting sound and vision from your Freesat box and your BluRay player.

If you are absolutely sure you have exhausted all avenues such as changing cables, ensuring cables are firm and secure, reviewing settings, factory resetting and anything else you can think of. Have you confirmed whether it is problem with the AV processor or the TV, have you taken the Freesat and BluRay out of the AV processor and connected them directly to the TV to try and rule out a fault with the TV and isolating the problem to the AV processor. Is the software up to date on the processor the last update was in 2022, here it is,

Are you able to take the processor to a friend or relative or neighbour to check if it works okay with their TV

and speaker system.

The very last resort would be to take it to a Sony authorised repair centre, you'll nee to search on line for the most convenient one, how much that will cost I don't know and if it does need a repair or replacement part

it could get expensive, and may not be worth it.

Unfortunately the system is not working properly and I am at a loss to know what to do next. I cannot get anyone near enough to come and have a look at it. I can't take it anywhere. I'll probably just have to work round the way it is. Thanks for trying.
