Sony XH8505 TV 43 inch - No Sound
I’ve recently purchased the above TV and have had no issues until today. When watching Sky Q, the sound suddenly cut out. There was no TV sound when using the remote settings either.
I checked audio output which was on TV and performed a sound test which didn’t produce sound. I reset Sky and still no TV sound. I reset sound settings to factory which still didn’t work.
Finally I had to unplug the TV for a minute then switched it back on to finally get sound to come back on.
Is this a fault with the TV? I have the latest firmware already installed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Rich,
Probably a temporary glitch in the system. If sound is playing now it should be fine.
Anyway, please have an eye on it and let us know if it happens again.
Cheers
Peter

I think there may be a software problem - I have had this happen four or five times on my KD-49XE8005 recently. Always when returning to TV from the apps menu. Requires a reboot to get sound back. If you change channels you may get a sub-second burst of sound, then it cuts out again.

Do you have the latest software version installed on your TV? If yes, it's probably a good idea to clear cached data especially that you mentioned apps specifically.
You can find the TV cache under Storage & Reset - Internal Shared Storage - Cached Data, then restart by holding the Power button for a few seconds.
Do let us know if this solves it for you ^^
