I am lucky enough to have bought a KD-55A1 last weekend. I have had the TV less than 24 hours and am already getting the empty "event information unavailable" info in the Freeview Guide.
I have had a professional ariel instalation carried out giving me 100 signal strenth and quiality.
Reading other thraeds, the fix is retune without the ariel attached, then retune with it. This is very poor for a top of the range TV.
My "outgoing" TV is a KDL-46W905a (Non- Android) which suffered the same symptoms, which I was hoping had been fixed by now.
Can anyone offer any help please?

It may be poor, but have you tried it?
And how do you know you have 100% signal strength unless you have tuned in a channel?
With two Sony TVs giving the same issue on your aerial system, and few if any other reports of this issue, I might be a bit sceptical about the completeness of that 'professional installation', or at least of the cables between it and the TV,
Have you any other, ideally non-Sony, TVs you can try on the connection?
