KD43XE7073 - info banner permanently on for SD channels

I've just bought a Sony Bravia KD43XE7073 TV and connected to Sky Q, but there are 2 main problems:

 

1.  The black banner appears at the top everytime I change the channel on the sky remote

 

2.  The black info panel stays on permanently for SD channels such as BBC one.

 

N.B. I don't have the option to turn off the banner in the channel set up menu.

 

Please can someone help?

Thanks.  I have the manual already.  It doesn't help unfortunately.
 
The info banner is still there all the time on SD.  I've read that other users are having problems too.  Is that true?
 
Please can you look into it further?

Hi,

 

Are you able to press exit/return on the remote. Does that remove the banner?

Hi,

 

Tried all of the buttons.  Only the one that says + and some lines on it, sort of works.  The banner disappears for half a second and then returns.

Update: I've raised a ticket with Sony who have have told me to contact sky (nice going Sony!)

 

Sky have said they will try to get hold of Sony. Sony say they do not talk to Sky at all (thx again Sony!)

 

I'm in limbo.  Only had the T.V. 2 weeks. Want to return it to Currys as not fit for purpose.

Which info banner are you referring to? The Sky banner? What text does it display?

Hi All, 

Update from me is that I returned the TV and swapped for Samsung that works perfectly.

 

A shame that Sony couldn't sort this out. I hope you get your TVs sorted.
