KD-55A1 Alexa commands partially stopped working
Hi there,
I've been using Alexa with my KD-55A1 for many years. A few months ago I noticed that some commands stopped working altogether and no idea why.
I've tried deassociating from my Alexa account and rejoining
The network is stable, but I've rebooted routers anyway.
The TV is connected by RJ45 networking, IPv4. Wifi is OFF on the TV.
The TV power setting is set to allow remote control via network. (Remote start)
Control Remotely: ON
The device name is "TV" on the tv itself as well as in Alexa. Alexa discovery finds no new devices.
Settings:
Speakers: TV speakers
Headphone/Audio out: Headphones (none connected)
Audio to both TV SPeakers and other device: off
Software: Current, Kernel 4.9.125
Model: KD-55A1
Power ON the TV: - Works sometimes. It seems if the TVs been off a long time, then it stops.
Power OFF the TV - Always works
Changing channel by name - Always works, even if it sometimes gets the wrong channel (eg BBC1 HD sometimes I just get BBC1 non-HD)
Mute/Unmute - has stopped working
Volume up/down - has stopped working
Turn the tv volume to X - has stopped working
Volume control via the remote control buttons - no problem.
Volume control via the remote (mic) - works, no problem.
I'm linked Alexa <> TV via the Son't TV Basic Skill (not the other Sonys TV) which is the correct one due to the age of the TV.
Checking the Alexa audio log it heard me but the log doesn't tell you much else
Trying to change volume via a Routine doesn't work either.
I've tried to find a way to contact support.. Tried to send skill feedback (I can't even choose the TV in the list)

Ive always had issues with Alexa controlling my Sony, very hit aand miss, limited support i think.
Eventually i changed to Iphone and i ended up nuying the homepod mini, Siri and Apple have done a much better job of controlling it and my entire home in fact.
Cant help much im afraid, i think Alexa is very much a thing of the past and on the way out, 2nd hand shops are littered with them, hopefully you manage to solve it.
