Anyone know if the 2016 range of Sony TVs in this case (KD65XD93) will ever get the BBCi player 4K UHD option?.

Hi there,
I will pass this on. Somebody should get back to you.
Best wishes,
M
Thanks, M
I have a bad feeling that this TV will not be able to deal with BBCi player 4K or youtubes new version with 4K 60fps.......
and by the way this is my 3rd TV 2 previous sets developed faults...
Kinda wished I had got a Samsang or LG, rather than the Sony..( a friend bought a Samsung almost half what I paid for my Sony) ......... and has BBCiplayer 4K and youtube V2.1 with 4K @ 60fps.... half the price and twice as good 😞

Hi carsos,
It is true that support was added for some TVs but it remains to be seen if any future updates will include it for the XD93 series. The only thing to do is to keep an eye on the support page until an update is released.

Hi Win_88,
2 years ago this set was labled a mid to hi-end set and was around the £2400ish to buy, at the time you could buy a LG set (49inch) for just under £500 that had BBCi player with 4K, the one thing I wish we had was open information on what Sony's tech department (I'm sure they have one) are working on and an update on what ever issues they are finding so we all knew (for those who want to know!!!!) what was going on, a little tranparency would go a very long way.
