Hi Guys, on my 55XE9005, when I go to the Service Menu I've got this error:
"4KPQ ERROR - 160101071923"
I send a picture for the above error, hope you can help me figure out
How do you perform a self check? Ill see if mines the same.
Already did that, neither the assistant or the technician that come to my house knows what it is. The lack of knowledge is overwhelming, for instance the technician didn't know what is HDR and how it works!!!!
Just a couple of WAGs, but I reckon it might be 4K Picture Quality. 10 bit, as it looks like there is what may be a separate 12 bit code.
No idea if that moves things any further forward, though

How do you access this "self check" on the TV?
Service menu is not for customer access.
Accessing Service Menu can lead to warranty loss as characteristics of product could be changed.

So if you are a pro rather than a conventional customer, why are you posting that in here? Nobody will be able to help you anyway. Neither are the users in this user-driven forum, nor the technical support people via mail/phone who have no knowledge of the products their company is selling...
OK, posted by another person...
Hi LuckyN7,
Welcome to our community!
I'm not familiar with the Service Menu tool nor the error shown. Usually, these tools are meant to be used only by service engineers so I don't think you can get help with it here especially that Sony doesn't disclose what the error messages mean. I'd say it's best to contact your nearest service centre and have the TV inspected if you're facing any issues with your TV.

This error happened once. Seems from your picture that has not happened a second time.
The number 160101071923 possibly represents Date Time Hour Min Secs. So this error happened January 1st 2016 at 07:19:23 am. Possibly during a firmware Update or a sudden electrical power loss.
The 4KPQ ERROR possibly represents a V-by-One® HS (high speed and long distance data transmission) error, created during communication between the video processing board and the timing controller IC (T-CON) of LCD
