Xperia 1 V Fingerprint Unlock Screen Frozen Bug

For the past few months I have noticed my Xperia 1 V will be unresponsive when I unlock it using the fingerprint reader, often showing half the lock screen or pin input over the top of the home screen and it won't allow me to interact with the screen until I lock it then unlock it using a pin code instead.

I have found many other users complaining about this issue here:

And

As well as these:

I am trying to raise this issue to Sony as it is widespread and they have asked for footage of the issue. So if anyone can use another device to capture this happening, please do share, I am trying to catch and record it happening with a spare phone I have but this issue is very intermittent. It seems to only happen every couple days and happens just when I urgently need to use my phone.

Please help!

Reddit post I made about this also:

I finally got a video of this glitch in action here for Sony support, this happened after fingerprint unlocking the phone today after using it for a few hours on/off

I'm seeing same on Xperia 10 V, just leaving link to my story here. And Kudos!

Hey @ROBYER1

Did you report it already to Sony and they help you with this issue? Or they didn't respond yet?

I reported this to support and got it escalated to a relevant department, I would encourage others to do the same by reporting it to Sony and jumping through the support hoops to get it escalated to keep the pressure on for a fix.
