FS315b freezing when power cord is taken out

i have problem when i take the power cord out of my laptop. it some time freezes and i can not move the cursor bt appears to go back to normal when the cord re inserted. it is incredible annoying. juist wondering if u guys kno of anything that can help me

Hi Jamesv3s.

As the fault seems to be intermittent, I would expect it to be a hardware problem as a software problem is usually there all the time.

There are two possible hardware causes: -

1. The battery, its connections, its circuitry is faulty. First thing to check are the battery connections - give them a good clean. To check any more will need another battery to try. Do you know anyone with a battery you could borrow?

2. The Voltage Transformer board, the motherboard or their connections may be faulty. You will need a speciallist repairer to have a look at these.

I presume you are outside the Sony warranty?

yes outside warranty
its just really werird, sometimes its okay
bt when i yank the cord out its usually is freeze and when replug and take out again its fine and can run withoput power cord

Just check the battery contacts. If it gets too bad to live with, I think you will need to get a local repairer to have a look at it.
