MOTION EYE NOT WORKING VGN FZ18E

hi

please can someone help.....

i've had my laptop for about 9 months and i've never been able to get the motion eye to work. It is definately enabled in the device manager and the software is up to date, however when i try and use it on msn all it says is to plug it in!!!!

i've searched the download user manual and that is virtually useless... has anyone else had this problem and have you been able to get it fixed????

any help would be fab

I have a FE41Z. My camera works OK on video but will not take a still picture. It just asks for a device (Such as a digital camera) to be plugged in.

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CAMERA.IT USED TO WORK AND HAS JUST STOPPED FOR NO REASON

Hi BLONDE EMS and welcome to Club Vaio.

Have you installed the Microsoft Hotfix KB931812 for Sony Cameras? I have attached it to the bottom of this post. Try running it and see if it helps.

For other various camera problems (and there are an awful lot), check the following: -

1. Your camera is properly installed. Look in Device Manager -> Imaging Devices. Make sure your camera is installed as a 'Sony Visual Communications Camera'.
2. You have the latest Vaio Camera Capture Utility installed for your model.
3. You have the latest Vaio Camera Utilitylled for your model. (THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE CAPTURE UTILITY).
4. Try installing KB931812
5. You can try disabling Vista's User Account Control (UAC) if you get messages saying the camera is in use by another application.
