Hi,

Just purchased a VGN-FZ21S and was wondering what expected temperatures are....

I mean just running a game my cores and gpu are getin between 70-80 degrees. This seems a little high? My brother had all kinds of problems with and old toshiba he had which ran at these kind of temperatures.... the case warped and the motherboard failed.

Is there some kind of fan speed control utility or core usage utilitiy which can/should be used?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tombobo, you should look at my topic from a few days ago:

http://club.vaio.sony.fr/clubvaio/fr/fr/forum/viewthread?thread=55010

As you can see in the end the motherboard gave up and has been changed. Since the temperatures were still too high when it came back from service, I send it again. Now I'm waiting...

The best thing I found to use temporarly is to put it in "power saver" mode when clicking on the battery icon in the taskbar.

It reduces the performance and the temperatures. But of course I recommend you phone to the service because maybe there are just some series of this model that have this problem and can be fixed somehow by replacing some parts.
