You can check for any newer graphics drivers and download updates for your vaio via the Sony support download page, use the following link then select your model in the drop down list to download the update: Sony Support Downloads

Well the problems have worsened, there was no update for the graphic card.
But now the game im playing (lineage 2) freezes up immediatly after the login screen.
My comp was send 2 times to england for repairs and the 1st time they changed the motherboard.
Then the problems started: first I could login and play for 1 hr then 30 mins and now zero:)
Sent it again and they didnt find anything Could it be the video card is fried ??
The comp doesnt get that hot anymore after the new motherboard, but the game is not running anymore.

No not if your desktop appears on your screen.?

What version graphics driver are installed on your Vaio.?

What model Vaio do you have.?

Have you checked the game manufactures web site for any updates.?

The Vaio is a VGN-BX297XP
The graphics ATI Mobility radeon x700
As far as I know it has the latest drivers via Vaio update (didnt see any new on the vaio help site).
Game was updated at last maintenance (auto update).

Ran a benchmark program and it also froze up with the now to familiar stripes and squares on the screen.
