I am unable to open my dvd driver using the eject button on my laptop. I have to use the side eject button to open it. Is this a power management issue?       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi ajay501&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;welcome to Club Vaio.. &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.ie/html/@3191CA7235A406D833094BA2DD1CF2FF/images/smilies/011.png" alt=":slight_smile:" title=":slight_smile:" /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you mean that windows vista screen blinks as soon as the desktop icons appear?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If so then this is normal, Microsoft have called this process Microsoft Transient Multi-Monitor Manager.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it really annoys you then you can disable this process..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Click &lt;STRONG&gt;Start &lt;/STRONG&gt;, click &lt;STRONG&gt;All Programs&lt;/STRONG&gt; , click  &lt;STRONG&gt;Accessories&lt;/STRONG&gt;, click &lt;STRONG&gt;System Tools&lt;/STRONG&gt; then click &lt;STRONG&gt;Task Scheduler&lt;/STRONG&gt;..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Click &lt;STRONG&gt;Continue&lt;/STRONG&gt; on the User Account Control window.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In Task Scheduler, expand &lt;STRONG&gt;Task Scheduler Manager&lt;/STRONG&gt;, then expand &lt;STRONG&gt;Microsoft&lt;/STRONG&gt; and finally expand &lt;STRONG&gt;Windows&lt;/STRONG&gt;..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Click on &lt;STRONG&gt;MobilePC&lt;/STRONG&gt; then in the middle section click on &lt;STRONG&gt;TMM&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Over on the right hand column, select either &lt;STRONG&gt;disable&lt;/STRONG&gt;...  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hopefully when you reboot you shouldn't have the screen blink.. &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.ie/html/@3191CA7235A406D833094BA2DD1CF2FF/images/smilies/011.png" alt=":slight_smile:" title=":slight_smile:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Edit: if you use dual monitors you may have to re-enable TMM as problems may occur with some programs that are displaying on the secondary monitor.. &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.ie/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

I will try what you suggested tonight and hope it works. The guy at the Sony helpdesk told me to F10 and reload/restore the operating system.
