Hi all

My beloved-but-definitely-non-techie Mum has a PCG-FR415B that needs a new backlight (screen gone pink and very dim - works fine on external monitor - common wisdom seems to point to the backlight)

She has measured the screen width as "ooo, about 30cm" - not really accurate enough. Unfortnuantely the machine is a 400-mile round trip away or I'd go and measure it myself!!! It seems you can buy backlights in various lengths (197mm 300mm 302mm etc etc) and diameters (either 2mm or 2.6mm). Without having dismantled the screen (yet), I am guessing this is critical. So here goes...

I know it's a long shot but can anyone tell me, authoritatively, the correct dimensions?

Bit of a hurry, as I need to mail-order the part to arrive by Friday (five days away... gulp )

Cheers everyone.

Peter
