There is no sign of damage to the display, but it just glows a very dull white 😞

I am still able to us the laptop on an external monitor.

Does anyone have any suggestion, or experience on getting such faults fixed here in the UK?

Many thanks for your help.

Conway

Hi Conway,

It's not a cheap procedure, if it's the LCD then it's expensive to get the replacement but easy to fit, but if it's the inverter it's not as easy to fit, but costs less than the LCD.

Taking it to a laptop specialist might be the best thing to do.

It should still work throught a monitor.

It could be that the cable that runs from the main unit to the screen has worn out.

I would go with Kee-lo's suggestion take it to a computer repair company. Check with your local resellers to se if they have any suggestions.
