I need some help to get my sony dcr pc1e camera connected to my pc or laptop both only have a USB port and the pc has no spare slots for a firewire card

How can this problem be solved ? any suggestions at all ?

@rlhozi I don't think this camcorder can be connected in any other way.

You can maybe try looking for an adaptor or firewire VCR-like device for example?
